Come scrivere un libro e sopravvivere

Nel 2022, la scrittura a quattro mani di un manuale di Matematica per gli studenti del primo anno dei Corsi di Laurea in Economia ci ha posti di fronte a varie sfide, che possono essere suddivise in due macro aree: la necessità di usare un pacchetto che consentisse la scrittura collaborativa, magari con i file su cloud, con autori che lavorano in momenti diversi e parzialmente sovrapposti, e la necessità di soddisfare le richieste stilistiche imposte dalla casa editrice, alcune delle quali note a priori ed altre che sono emerse solo in fase di correzione delle bozze. \par Abbiamo trovato, per molti di questi problemi, alcuni "trucchi'' e soluzioni, che condividiamo in questo articolo con coloro che vogliono cimentarsi in un lavoro analogo, precisando che queste sono le soluzioni che hanno consentito a noi di sopravvivere e di produrre un testo che soddisfa tutti i requisiti imposti, ma che non sono forse le soluzioni ottimali e neppure le uniche soluzioni possibili ai problemi che ci si sono presentati.
Abstract
In 2022, we wrote with two other colleagues a book of Calculus for first year students of Economy. Writing this book has posed various problems, which can be divided in two areas: the need of using a package to collaboratively write the book, possibly with the files saved on a cloud service, with authors working in different times, but sometimes at the same time; and the need to satisfy the stylistic requests of the editor, some of which already known and other known during the proofreading phase.
We found, for a great number of these problems, some tricks and solutions that we want to share in this paper with those willing to begin a similar job. Let us specify that these are the solutions which allowed us to survive and to produce a book satisfying all the characteristics imposed by the editor. Perhaps these are not the optimal solutions, nor the unique.
