GuIT meeting 2023 --- 2023 May 20 --- Rome


GuIT (Gruppo Utilizzatori Italiani di TeX, the official Italian TUG) is pleased to announce 2023 GuIT Meeting, the 19th edition of the Italian meeting on TeX, LaTeX and digital typography.

The meeting, organized by GuIT with Department of Literary, Philosophical and Art History Studies of University of Rome Tor Vergata and with Departments of Mathematics for Economic, Financial and Actuarial Sciences and Historical and Philological Studies of Catholic University of Milan, will be held on May the 20th, 2023 (beginning at 9 a.m. CET) in Rome and it will be hosted by University of Rome Tor Vergata, Department of Literary, Philosophical and Art History Studies, Via Columbia, 1, 00133 Roma.

Registration

People can attend the meeting free of charge, but it is necessary to fill a registration form within May 10th.

Call for papers

Articles exploring digital typography in humanistic field are welcome, as well as any other original contribution.

The authors who want to submit an article must send it (in English or Italian) to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by the 15th of April 2023, 23.59 CET.
Authors will be notified within a few hours of the reception of the paper. Articles must be submitted anonymously, without any reference to the authors, and they will undergo a peer-review process. The accepted ones will be published on the next issue of ArsTeXnica, the Italian journal of TeX and LaTeX.

ArsTeXnica is recognized as a scientific journal by ANVUR in non bibliometric sectors of Area 10 (Antiquities, philology, literary studies, art history) and Area 11 (History, philosophy, education sciences).

Traveling in Rome

Public transport companies in Rome are ATAC (city buses) and CoTraL (suburban buses and underground). You may buy tickets in newstands, tobacconists' and automatic machines in the railway and undergound stations.

These tickets may suit your needs:

  • BIT (Biglietto Integrato a Tempo): 1,50 €, 100 minutes trip on city buses and only one trip on the underground;
  • Roma 24H: 7,00 € unlimited trips on city buses and underground for 24 hours after validating the tickets;
  • Roma 48H; 12,50 € like the Roma 24H but for 48 hours after the validation;
  • Roma 72H; 18,00 € like the Roma 24H and 48H but for 72 hours after the validation.
